Tallo

This project demanded a name for a new restaurant that effortlessly fuses the spirited charm of Italian-American heritage with the vibrant, magnetic energy of Miami’s iconic Art Deco style.

The goal was to create a brand that feels all at once lively, inclusive, and timeless—appealing to digital nomads, families, and couples alike. Our approach drew on Sound Symbolism, the connection between the sounds of words and their meanings, and cultural influences, ensuring that the name evokes playfulness, warmth, joy, delight, and sophistication while staying grounded in the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere the space embodies.

The name TALLO was chosen – pulling on the vintage typography and the distinctive arch features of the architecture at the venue, the Tallo word mark is modern, strong and uncomplicated.

The assets paid homage to the location of the restaurant – ‘West Coast Beers’ and ‘East Coast Plates’, with a secondary strap-line developed; Italo-American, Neighbourhood Eatery.

A palm tree arch illustration was added to further capture the unique architecture and location of Tallo, and the brand colours inspired by the restaurant interiors, whilst the sunset oranges contrast and bring warmth.

We further developed the brand by recommending photography styles that complimented the story, and suggested a variety of applications -uniform designs, key cards, social media assets and more.
